First, this will be the last These Old Bones for a little bit. I wanted to try this idea and push my art forward a bit and things are feeling better on that front. My goal is to eventually do a full story set in the TOB’s world, but that’s isn’t right now, because I have other comic ideas I want to get out there into the world.
So, for now, here’s the comic!

To climb up the ladder, someone has to fall down it.
Now for the other part of that headline.
Here’s me.
I turned 40.
Life is going pretty good. I was driving home, rambling to myself about the current state of bullshit that is happening all around me, and BAM! I took a very expensive ride on a rollercoaster made for one.

It was a good one.
Now, here I can sit, after two weeks of basically doing nothing because of four broken ribs, pain, and a whole lotta insurance troubles. It’s been a rather bothersome time, but also, it’s literally forced me to stop and take a breath.
Did I come to some grand epiphany? No. My mission remains the same: tell small stories very well in whatever format will work best for said story. I remain unchanged in this direction, I just have more motivation to get things done.
Let me put it this way, I get why Stephen King went gangbusters in terms of output after he got run over. There’s nothing like life throwing a brick in your face to make you realize that time is ticking.
You’ll be hearing more from me soon.
Thank you for your time,
Nick Mazmanian
